tricia.halloweenIn her position as GQA Member Services Manager, Tricia manages most of the communications coming out of the Gaslamp Quarter office. From news & update email newsletters to GQA members and marketing emails for the general public to the comprehensive website you're on now, that provides ample resources for convention planners and tourists alike, she is the hub of all Gaslamp related information.

These past ten years of event experience have prepared her well to organize the Gaslamp's new & innovative Art Festival, as well as the popular Gaslamp Insider program. Her innovative plans and risk-taking in special events and marketing programs have provided exposure for many types of venues, brought foot traffic to diverse locations in the Gaslamp and garnered her the respect of many Gaslamp Quarter business operators.  Her enthusiasm, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn new skills have made Tricia a valuable asset to the Gaslamp Quarter Association and San Diego's tourism industry.

Originally from Quincy Massachusetts, Tricia swam competitively at UMass while in the BA Program for English & Business Communications. She enjoyed working as a disc jockey (under the pseudonym Trish Allen) for WUSM, the college's independant radio station for all 4 years and eventually became the Stations Promotions Director hosting events featuring the likes of Jay Leno and The Ramones.  She moved to San Diego in 1989 and is proud to reside in Ocean Beach.

She worked for McCormick & Schmick’s restaurant for several years while running a creative T-shirt company on the side.  In 1993 she joined the Dick’s Last Resort Restaurant team and worked for them here in the Gaslamp for 8 years.
A contributor to the creative development of Dick Last Resort’s promotions and special events, she was hired on a temporary basis by the Gaslamp Quarter Association to assist with the Mardi Gras Parade in January of 1999.

It became apparent that her skills and talents matched the needs of the GQA and she was hired as a permanent employee in March of 1999.  Her position at the GQA has grown from an administrative roll of answering phones, data entry, and filing to coordinating special events such as the Lamplighter Awards, the Taste of the Gaslamp and the Mardi Gras festival along with everything else it takes to help the Business Improvement District continue to grow and succeed.

In 2002 she was honored with the Gaslamp Quarter Association Leadership Award and more recently she was nominated by the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association of San Diego (HSMAI) as "ALLIED PERSON of the YEAR"
