The Gaslamp Quarter Association is a Business Improvement District established by City of San Diego Ordinance No. 15647 on January 4, 1982 and is located in the 16 and one half block area designated as the Gaslamp Quarter National Historic District. The Official boundary is the east side of 4th Avenue, 5th Ave and the west side of 6th Avenue, between Harbor Drive and Broadway. The Gaslamp Quarter Association (GQA) has sponsor, general and associate members representing more than 400 businesses. Businesses located within the Gaslamp Quarter are automatically members. An assessment is levied annually on Business Tax Licenses to fund the B.I.D. The City of San Diego has contracted the Gaslamp Quarter Association to promote the district and enhance a sense of community within the Gaslamp Quarter. General Membership - Retail, Business services, Visitor Services Hospitality based businesses - Hotels Restaurants, Nightclubs, Bars & Lounges Businesses outside the boundary may be eligible for Associate membership. Applications are reviewed by the GQA Board of Directors once a month and must be approved by the vote. Associate Membership is designed for businesses located outside the Gaslamp Quarter boundaries, that have a vested interest in business happenings within the Gaslamp. Prices as follows - Non-Gaslamp, For profit Businesses: 1-9 employees= $275 10-50 employees =$550, 51-75 employees =$900, 76+ employees= $1200 annually Gaslamp Quarter residents -$150, Gaslamp Quarter Property Owners - $500 and not for profit businesses - $250 waiver application available Benefits: > Opportunity to participate in the Gaslamp Quarter Association promotions and other cooperative marketing, advertising and media coverage opportunities. > Opportunity to advertise in historic heart of San Diego brochure.
