Gaslamp Music & Art Festival - Saturday May 25, 2013
From smooth beats to funky scats, the Gaslamp Music & Art Festival will celebrate live music on Memorial Day weekend. Various Gaslamp Quarter businesses, along with the Gaslamp Quarter Association (GQA), are pleased to announce the return of the 2nd Annual Gaslamp Music & Art Festival on Saturday, May 25th, 2013 from 11:00am to 9:00pm. This electrifying program will feature live entertainment, dining and interactive art demonstrations hosted at several venues throughout the Gaslamp Quarter.
Participating locations will offer an opportunity to enjoy an eclectic collection of local and regional bands – offering everything from Latin Jazz to Irish Rock, rockabilly to flamenco, reggae to acoustic music – and interactive art demonstrations. There will be free admission to each venue throughout the duration of the event*. Guests are invited to start the day’s festivities at barleymash (600 Fifth Avenue) to pick up their event programs, including the event map and live entertainment line-up (also available in every copy of San Diego CityBeat’s Wednesday, May 22nd issue), then enjoy the free live bands and art exhibits at various Gaslamp Quarter venues throughout the day.

This year’s Gaslamp Music & Art Festival will cap a month of Gaslamp Quarter events and specials offered to the brave men and women who serve in the armed forces as part of NBC 7 San Diego, Gaslamp Quarter Association, and Ashford University’s Salute to Service District program throughout May. There will be free admission throughout the Gaslamp Music & Art Festival for all who show their official Gaslamp Music & Art Festival event program at the door. Some of these locations are 21 and up only with valid ID, though several locations will offer entertainment and attractions for all.
