We are home to more than 150 hospitality based businesses and another 80 shops and boutiques, so there is always something going on in our National Historic District. NEW & UPCOMING IN THE GASLAMP
Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade - Join us on Sunday, December 8th, 2013 as we invite all of our furry friends to don their festive attire and take over the Gaslamp for the 6th Annual Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade. Frauds and Swindlers (820 5th Ave.) is OPEN in the space last occupied by Brick + Mortar. LA drink pros, Aidan Demarest and Dave Whitton, have partnered up on the new hot spot to bring you craft cocktails and even craftier juice concoctions. The mezzanine area known as "Two Fingers" will specialize in neat spirits. Don't forget to order a slice of pizza from The Italian Next Door to go with your cocktail or stop in late, they're open until 4am.
Kamikaze 7 Sushi Joint (411 Market St.) is completed and NOW OPEN in the space formerly occupied by Shoreline Gallery. It is rumored to be an edgy sushi spot that puts the fun back in the dining experience.
Lucky Bastard Saloon (840 5th Ave.) takes over the former Cremolose space to bring a "biker chick" vibe to the Gaslamp Quarter. Pair that with their comfort food menu, local beer on tap, pool tables, shuffle board, and beer pong. What more could you ask for? NOW OPEN!
Fogo de Chao (668 6th Ave) is located in the building previously known for Border's Books. This Brazilian steakhouse, is known for sharing the gaucho way of preparing meat by expertly grilling each cut and dishing it up via continuous table-side service. They officially OPENED on August 29th. Be sure to stop in for an amazing dining experience and try their authentic Brazilian caipirinha cocktail!
My Yogurt (542 5th Ave) "swirl it your way" is set to open in the old Bon Vin space next to The Field Irish Pub.
Tin Roof (401 G Street) a Nashville-based live music chain will open its first West Coast location in January 2014 in the space that has housed Gaslamp's Rock Bottom Brewery for the past 15 years.
Ramen Yamadaya (531 Broadway) is hoping to open its doors sometime in August. They specialize in Tonkotsu Ramen, but have many other Japanese cuisine options available.
Encore (545 F St) is a new restaurant opening in the former Kiyo's/LA Rack space. We're not sure if "Encore" will be the name or when it is opening, but either way, we are ready to welcome them into the Gaslamp!
FUNNY BONE TICKLERS
The American Comedy Co. (818-B 6th Ave.) - This venue is always primed to serve up chuckles to beat the mid-week blues. November brings Bobby Lee from "Chelsea Lately" Nov. 14-16, Nate Bargatze Nov. 21-24, Joey Diaz Nov. 29-30 and don't forget unpredictable and always hilarious antics abound every Tuesday at Open Mic Night. The Tipsy Crow (770 5th Ave.) - Experience standup comedy the way it was meant to be experienced - up close and personal. It's officially baseball season, which means from Opening Day at PETCO Park to October, there are baseball-themed happy hours and specials galore in Downtown San Diego. You can review the lists or read the guides! There are so many options you will want to study up. Review some of Gaslamp's great shopping too. We have a fun array of independently owned and operated shops and services. We encourage you to SHOP LOCAL and support our small businesses. Our San Diego based merchants can offer personal service and unique items that aren’t in every mall in America.
We can help you find just about anything else you may like with our big collection of Maps. You can select our EZPrint map for an overview that will print up nicely on your desktop printer or try one of our digital maps. We've worked with Google to set up a series of maps that will populate in your cell phone or on your tablet. Either way we have lots of info and options for you.
