ShamROCK is a fun outdoor block party for those looking to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. It is ALWAYS on true St. Paddy's Day! In 2012, look for it on Saturday March 17.
The Gaslamp make its magical transformation into the greenest party this side of Dublin, once each year! They roll out over 60,000 square feet of green Astroturf, build three stages of live entertainment, hire the coolest DJ’s, the biggest bands and the hottest go-go dancers you’ve ever laid your emerald eyes on! Great Live bands, more than enough green beer and traditional Irish fayre are always on hand at this popular celebration.
Traditionally, shamROCK takes place in the Gaslamp Quarter on F Street between 5th and 7th Avenues, and 6th Avenue between E and G Streets. The main entrance is located at 5th and G Street and they've had sell out crowds, topping over 20,000 attendees every year, for over a decade! Tickets to the greenest party in town are $40 in advance and $45 on the day of the event! This includes in and out privileges, specials and no cover charges at over twenty of the Gaslamp’s hottest nightclubs and restaurants. Always get your tickets in advance because this event sells out. in 2012 look for tickets in advance at The Field Irish Pub located at 544 5th Avenue between Market and Island Avenue. New in 2012 > Special advance pre-sale of $35 through March 10th only! Attendees must be at least 21 years old and have proper ID to enter.
shamROCK producers and sponsors should be commended, for they offer a brilliant designated driver program. They provide FREE rides home, anywhere in San Diego County, for anyone with thier shamROCK wristband. Kudos to them for such a responsible practice.
