Perhaps you are visiting the Gaslamp Quarter and looking for a great and historic place to stay, well the Horton Grand Hotel is just the stop! Located in the heart of downtown and dating back to 1886, the Horton Grand is full of history and culture.

In the late 1970’s, the Grand Horton and Khale Saddlery Hotels, were scheduled for demolition to make room for the Horton Plaza mall development project. The two buildings were taken apart piece by piece, numbered, and then reassembled as one hotel to be known today as the Horton Grand Hotel.  Located next to the lobby is a museum of sorts showcasing Wyatt Erps taxidermy horse Sunshine, and numerous photos of the Horton Grand Hotel during the 18th and 19th centuries.  The hotel itself went through gorgeous renovations in the lobby, and rooms, with accents of the modern times while keeping it’s classic Victorian charm.  The hotel is only steps away from the Convention Center, great dining locations, shopping centers, and entertainment. The Horton Grand features luxurious guest rooms and spacious suites among multiple other amenities!

The hotel is also home to multiple great event venues suitable for intimate meetings or large galas. One of our personal favorites is the Horton Grand Theatre, a state of the art professional working theatre that can comfortably hold 240 guests for an array of events. The Horton Grand has an attentive support team that can help plan and execute a first class event unlike any other.

Another great stop within the Horton Grand is the Ida Bailey’s restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily! This one of a kind restaurant combines delicious food with a beautiful ambiance to make for the perfect meal! Directly next to the restaurant is the Palace Bar, an ideal location for a drink after work or prior to a night on the town. The Palace bar has a comfortable and inviting atmosphere with live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. You can also marvel at the gorgeous hand carved staircase, and murals of the 1800s. The Palace Bar also houses the largest single malt scotch collection in San Diego.  Definitely enjoy a stay at the Horton Grand Hotel, especially when you combine it with the Gaslamp Quarter’s extraordinary fine dining, art galleries and retail shopping.
