Refined under the tutelage of master sushi luminaries, Chef Sung Kim’s Full Moon Sushi located at 926 Fifth Ave is beautifully and uniquely displayed in the Gaslamp Quarter. Full Moon Sushi is the first Kaizen sushi restaurant in San Diego. Joining Chef Sung is a brigade of talented cooks and a staff with an unwavering dedication to quality and service.
You might ask, what is “Kaizen”? Kaizen is the Sino-Japanese word meaning, “change for better”. So with Full moon sushi’s combination of flavor and freshness, along with exotic fresh fish from around the world, Full Moon Sushi sets itself apart from other sushi restaurants.
All items offered are tapas style with international influences. Seasonal seafood varieties from around the world are offered to guests, and sometimes personally created, assuring the menu evolves along with the changing seasons.
Chef Sung and his sushi artists, receive fresh fish deliveries 2-3 times weekly, “Chef Sung also goes to market often to select the best catch or peruse the new arrivals, as well as acquire for the menu, live sea urchin, scallop, abalone and shrimp, “ said Alicia Joslin, General Manager. The staff at Full Moon Sushi know the importance of the art of sushi as well as making sure each guest of the restaurant receives an unforgettable experience.
The lounge-like setup caters to those with a discerning taste, giving people the room to sit and talk while enjoying a drink or bite to eat. Not only has chef Sung created the menu, but with a BA in architecture he has designed the restaurant with his contemporary tastes. The space is anchored by an open kitchen and surrounded by intimate banquette seating to satisfy your choice of dining experience.
