Greg Proops Podcast

It’s just Proops and you. There’s no fan fare. Proops takes center stage at small table and chair setup with a single microphone. Then he’s off. An hour of great conversation that flies by at a break neck clip. He crams the feeling of a great two-way conversation into the lecture-style format of a one-way conversation.

Part professorial, part crazed comedian, Proops forms the show around his talent and passions. The show flows like a love letter to tangents. The Proopcast has been to Australia, New Zealand, Montreal, London, Edinburgh, Austin, Cleveland, San Francisco and off the coast of St. Martin in the Caribbean all in one year. Now you must fall.

Be there and experience joy for once in your life.

Day Mic Comedy Workshop

Let’s face it: Most days in San Diego are just too damn nice. So escape the beautiful San Diego sunshine and tell jokes to friends in a basement! Every single Saturday, the ACC Day Mic offers new and experienced comedians a chance to work on their craft and to hate themselves during the daylight hours.

Sign-ups begin at 12:30, and using our patented Show Up, Go Up technology, every single performer is guaranteed five minutes of stage time in front of a jury of their peers. That’s right, there’s no audience there to distract you! Just your fellow comics, who are also eager and willing to tell you their opinions during the Feedback Segment immediately following your set! It’s the perfect opportunity to hone your craft, get feedback from other comics, and question your own life goals!

Plus, free coffee and soda, unlimited restroom visits, and completely unfettered access to the exit! The Day Mic: Because you’re committed to the bit.

When: Saturday, March 24 1PM

An Evening with Jason Mewes

Jason Mewes is perhaps best known as the vocal half of the on-screen comedic duo, Jay and Silent Bob. Mewes’ has reprised his role as celebrated character, “Jay,” in a number of hit films. With cult-fans following his controversial antics, Mewes has captured audiences with rebellious banter against his unspoken other half and longtime friend, Kevin Smith (Silent Bob). Since the beginning of the duo’s offbeat work together, Mewes and Smith have continued to build on their beloved character driven roles from the Jay and Silent Bob series.  To date, Mewes’ podcast with Smith, Jay and Silent Bob Get Old, is fast approaching 200 episodes. Mewes’ most noted film credits include: Smith’s award-winning Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Clerks II, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. This string of cult hits all celebrated and continued Mewes’ infamous role as “Jay,” a bawdy, fast talking, and over sexed but very likable guy.

When: Sunday, March 25 7PM

Where: 818 Sixth Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101
