Every third Monday Florent Restaurant & Lounge brings spoken word back to the Gaslamp Quarter with Poetry Slam! In the unique space in it’s basement, Florent hosts an insane night of slam poetry, raw emotion, and rhyme. Hosted by Florent’s own self-proclaimed slam poet, Jessica Pelligra and DJ’ed by the world renowned house music maniac Donald Glaude, the two have created a night that fosters *snaps* all around.
Slammers sign up to compete for a $50 Florent Restaurant & Lounge gift card and prestigious bragging rights before opening up the mic to anyone who wants to speak. Only costing a $5 cover, the Slam continues to attract more and more people at each event and is open to anyone 18 years and up. $5 coffee, beer, cocktails and $7 small plates are available for guests to enjoy.
