Mezé Greek Fusion, GBOD Hospitality Group’s Greek restaurant located at 345 Sixth Ave., is giving back to the community by partnering with local charity, It’s All About the Kids® Foundation, to provide meals to food-insecure children across San Diego county.
For each bottle of the restaurant’s signature Mezé Sauce purchased, GBOD Hospitality Group will provide one meal for a hungry child through the It’s All About the Kids® Foundation. The popular house-made hot sauce, available to purchase at the restaurant for $10, is made with chili paste, vinegar, garlic, cilantro, pomegranate juice, salt and pepper.
It’s All About the Kids® Foundation is a San Diego-based 501c(3) non-profit organization established in 2004. Its Feed the Kids Food Pantry provides between 6,000 and 10,000 meals each week to children and their families with bags of fresh produce, bread, tortillas and non-perishable food. Currently, more than 700 families are part of the program, including children from eight schools and seven zip codes in San Diego. In September 2019, the Feed the Kids program will surpass providing 500,000 meals to kids across the county.
