BIGA featuring Nick Brune – Wood Fired Dinner Series
Our Wood Fired Dinner Series, will be a showcase of chefs, fire and ingredients. Over the next several months, our BIGA kitchen will team up with some of the most beloved chefs in the county to create a memorable dining experience for guests.
These prix fixe, four-course tasting menus are meant to highlight a chef, using our wood ovens and some of the best products we can procure locally, as well as wines from around the world.
Nick Brune, a native of Louisiana, has been using his specialized cooking technique since he was young. This well respected chef, for our fourth installment (April 12, 2018) of the Dinner Series, has cooked with some of the biggest names in the restaurant world, and has also cooked for some of the most well known people in the world. As the founder of renown catering company Eco Caters, Nick has also been at the forefront of the trend of farm to table (although he would never call it that) and is one of the best beer pairing chefs in the city. We have seen what he does with fire. Wait til you taste what he does with it.

Asian Pacific Historic District Walking Tour
The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum and the Asian Pacific Historic Collaborative are offering a docent-led tour of San Diego’s Asian Pacific Historic District on the second Saturday of each month. Visitors will walk through the Gaslamp Quarter and Asian Pacific Historic District to see the sites of Asian Americans who populated the area beginning in the 1850’s and explore the Chinese, Japanese and Filipino districts that once filled the area.

Exhibition: Gallery Selections 2018 / A Group Show
This Spring, Sparks Gallery will revisit our esteemed Gallery Selections exhibition with a new format and an even tighter curation of the top local talent we think collectors should know now. For year two we’ll exhibit just six artists, a mix of emerging and established talent, and show eight original works from each spread across two “chapters” – a total of 42 original works for collectors to discover over the course of five months.
2018 Gallery Selections artists include Khalid Alkaaby, Paul Hobson, Monty Montgomery, Marissa Quinn, Perry Vasquez and Brady Willmott. While our selected artists represent a diversity of styles, media, and subject matter, they are united by exceptional technical skill, engaging compositions, and unique approaches to form and content.
