Exhibition: Gallery Selections 2017 / A Group Show
For “Gallery Selections 2017 / A Group Show”, each staff member at Sparks Gallery hand-selected 3 artists and their artworks to feature in this year’s new annual tradition. 15 artists were selected in total. Though vastly different in style and medium, the group exhibition will showcase over 30 pieces from a diverse, yet selective group of artists from Southern California.

Originally from Seattle, Jak is an LA-based stand-up comic, writer, and actor. He was named a 2014 Comedy Central Comic to Watch and a 2015 New Face at the Montreal JFL Festival. In television, Jak has performed on The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, @Midnight, and Adam Devine’s House Party. On the road, he performed at the main stage of 2015’s Oddball Comedy Festival headlined by Amy Schumer and Aziz Ansari, and has opened for various stand-ups including Joel McHale, Eric Andre, Moshe Kasher, and Dave Chappelle. Jak is currently writing and voicing a character for the upcoming Netflix animated series, BIG MOUTH.

Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton House
Gaslamp Saturday 11am Walking Tour
Opening a window to San Diego’s past, the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation showcases the history of the Davis-Horton House built in 1850, as well as walking tours of the historic Gaslamp Quarter. This Walking Tour takes place every Saturday at 11:00 AM starting at the Davis-Horton House at 410 Island Avenue.

He has also been part of Montreal Just For Laugh’s New Faces in 2013 that same year. Shane was also one of Comedy Central’s Comics to Watch in 2012. Dusty Rabbit Cocktail Contest & Giveaway
The “Dusty Rabbit” is a signature cocktail contest wherein merchants will honor the pioneering spirit of legendary founder, Alonzo Horton, who transformed “Rabbitville” into the thriving dining and entertainment district it is today! We’re challenging mixologists, bars, and restaurants from around the Gaslamp Quarter to create a cocktail named the Dusty Rabbit. Each location’s recipe is open to interpretation and may include any kind of spirit or alcohol uniquely reflective of the establishment.
Local mixologists are competing to develop our signature anniversary cocktail and we need your help to pick a winner! The Top 5 locations with the most engagement on Instagram and email will be served at our 150th Anniversary Birthday Party (Date TBD) and ticket holders to that event will then vote for their favorite Dusty Rabbit! By supporting your favorite Dusty Rabbit, you will also be entered for a chance to win a special Gaslamp Quarter 150th Anniversary Package!
