Mewes’ has reprised his role as celebrated character, “Jay,” in a number of hit films. With cult-fans following his controversial antics, Mewes has captured audiences with rebellious banter against his unspoken other half and longtime friend, Kevin Smith (Silent Bob). Since the beginning of the duo’s offbeat work together, Mewes and Smith have continued to build on their beloved character driven roles from the Jay and Silent Bob series. Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
Hear the history of the businesses that occupied the space where the gallery stands today, including details about the seedy underbelly of San Diego’s “New Town”. Speakers include local historians from Save Our Heritage Organisation (SOHO) and the gallery building owners.
The “Sterling Hardware Building” was built in 1924 and designated as a historic building in the early 1980s when the Gaslamp Quarter was created.

Shady Ladies and Hop Heads Historical Pub Crawl and Walking Tour
Created in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of New Town San Diego, now downtown, Shady Ladies and Hop Heads is a combination historical walking tour and pub crawl that explores the historic Gaslamp District.
Follow your guide back in time to hear about the Gaslamp Quarter back when it was called the “Stingaree” and was infamous for its teeming red-light district. Learn about the historic buildings and colorful characters that populated them— and perhaps even meet a few of them along the way! Enjoy a drink- or just a seat- at three historic bars that are original to the Gaslamp Quarter.

Dusty Rabbit Cocktail Contest & Giveaway
The “Dusty Rabbit” is a signature cocktail contest wherein merchants will honor the pioneering spirit of legendary founder, Alonzo Horton, who transformed “Rabbitville” into the thriving dining and entertainment district it is today! We’re challenging mixologists, bars, and restaurants from around the Gaslamp Quarter to create a cocktail named the Dusty Rabbit. Each location’s recipe is open to interpretation and may include any kind of spirit or alcohol uniquely reflective of the establishment.
Local mixologists are competing to develop our signature anniversary cocktail and we need your help to pick a winner! The Top 5 locations with the most engagement on Instagram and email will be served at our 150th Anniversary Birthday Party (Date TBD) and ticket holders to that event will then vote for their favorite Dusty Rabbit! By supporting your favorite Dusty Rabbit, you will also be entered for a chance to win a special Gaslamp Quarter 150th Anniversary Package!

Workshop: The Art of Journaling led by Artist Michelle D. Ferrera
Join SG artist Michelle D. Ferrera for an afternoon devoted to the craft of expressive free writing, drawing, and collage. Ferrera’s highly personal fine art practice evolved from her own journals, a journey she will share as she leads this workshop dedicated to manifesting dreams, processing ideas, and just showing up to meet that exhilarating blank page or canvas.
Ticket price includes a small journal for participants to keep and the use of materials (colored pencils, pens, markers, magazines, glue, etc.).
This workshop is appropriate for journalers of all ages and experience-levels, and though the session will be led by Ferrera, it will be highly collaborative. Bring your stories and experiences to share as well as any materials you are interested in incorporating into your own journal.
Please note, due to the nature of this event, all tickets must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance so that we can ensure materials are available for each guest on the day of the workshop.
