Andaz San Diego
Andaz San Diego gives guests an opportunity to become an artist at this month’s Salon with an interactive coloring wall. The coloring wall will feature enlarged prints from artist Jared Blake Lazar’s new coloring book, “Save the Fishies,” premiering at the event. For every coloring book sold at the Salon, $1 will go to charities helping to protect beaches, oceans, and marine life.
This truly unique experience will take place Thursday, August 25 from 6-10 p.m. at RoofTop600 at Andaz San Diego. Lazar will also be showing a solo art installation and offering a silent auction to give guests the opportunity to buy his work at a discounted rate. The auction’s focal points are two works of art Lazar painted live inside the Bloomingdales Fashion Valley store during their Spring Fashion Show and then displayed in the store’s window.
Guests can channel their inner artist while listening to live music from San Diego native, DJ Teddy Rose and enjoying complimentary beer tastings from Chula Vista brewery Novo Brazil Brewing.
The word Andaz means “personal style” in Hindi, and the monthly Salon series is an opportunity to showcase San Diego’s creative culture through local art, music, and the explosive craft beverage scene. All Andaz Salon events are free.
Complimentary appetizers will be served and specialty cocktails will be available for purchase.

Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation
The Davis-Horton House: Alive with Spirits from the Past?
Find out for yourself. Touted by many as, “the most haunted house in the Gaslamp Quarter,” the Davis-Horton House has become a highly popular place for investigating paranormal activities — occurrences that fall outside of what’s considered normal or that can’t be explained scientifically. Paranormal research teams present evidence to support their claims of having made contact with several house spirits. They’ve recorded voices, taken photos, and shot video to document their surprising findings. These other-worldly experiences are available to the public through monthly Paranormal Investigations tours, led by San Diego Ghost Hunters, a professional paranormal research team that conducts on-site investigations. You may bring cameras, smart-phones, hand-held video recorders, and digital sound recorders, but NO PROFESSIONAL MEDIA EQUIPMENT is allowed with guests.
