Top 5 places to view the XXXI Olympiad!

You don’t need to go to Rio to be a part of the Olympic Summer Games! Just come by the Gaslamp Quarter where you can view the opening ceremonies on Friday, or throughout the 16 day event! Catch it all at one of Gaslamp’s favorite bars/ eateries!

#5 – The New Yorker- 535 Fourth Ave- Set inside the historic “ Chinese Laundry” building built in 1923, you can find well priced beers, appetizers, and New York style pizza (not to mention plenty of TVs). The New Yorker is a great spot to park up and catch all the Olympic action this summer. Check out their penny floor too! Perhaps you can find the dime hidden amoung all of the Lincolns!

#4 – The Union Kitchen and Tap- 333 Fifth Ave- There is no better place to catch all the Olympic sporting action this summer than Union Bar And Grill right on 5th Ave! Grab some delicious made pub fare, (flatbreads, ribs, wings) craft beers and creative cocktails with friends during happy hour Monday – Friday from 3pm- 6pm. 2$ off all Beer, Craft Cocktails and Well Drinks, ½ price bottles of wines, and special bites!

#3 The Commons Bar- 901 Fourth Ave- Watch all the Olympic action on multiple TVs at this great Gaslamp hangout, which offers gastropub-inspired fare, a rotating lineup of local and micro brews, plus craft cocktails in a casual hometown setting. Daily specials/ events go on everyday and $10 bottles of champagne and $8 bloody marys on Saturday and Sunday.

#2 – 1919- 560 5th Ave.- This neighborhood sports bar features 25 HDTVs, refined bites with everything from fried chicken skins and fancy popcorn to gourmet burgers, 18 beers plus two cocktails on tap. Catch an event or two during the weekday happy hour, which runs Monday through Friday (4 – 6:30 p.m.) with $5 drafts and 20 percent off specialty cocktails.

#1 Fogo de Chao- 668 Sixth Ave- Celebrate the host country of the XXXI Olympiad by watching the games in the elegant bar at Gaslamp’s Fogo de Chao.
