As in prior years, admissions to interact with the cats at The Cat Cafe will be available for purchase. We are holding the price at the same level as last year. So, for $15, you will get a food or drink item and half an hour with the cats.

Spots will be available starting at 8:00 AM, and go for 30 minutes. We will then give the cats 15 minutes to relax without people being in the playpen, and we’ll begin the cycle again. The last spot will begin at 3:30 and end at 4:00.

Last year, most of these time slots filled up and we had to turn people away. So please make sure you avoid disappointment and book your spot early to get the one you want.

Dusty Rabbit Cocktail Contest & Giveaway

The “Dusty Rabbit” is a signature cocktail contest wherein merchants will honor the pioneering spirit of legendary founder, Alonzo Horton, who transformed “Rabbitville” into the thriving dining and entertainment district it is today! We’re challenging mixologists, bars, and restaurants from around the Gaslamp Quarter to create a cocktail named the Dusty Rabbit. Each location’s recipe is open to interpretation and may include any kind of spirit or alcohol uniquely reflective of the establishment.

Local mixologists are competing to develop our signature anniversary cocktail and we need your help to pick a winner! The Top 5 locations with the most engagement on Instagram and email will be served at our 150th Anniversary Birthday Party (Date TBD) and ticket holders to that event will then vote for their favorite Dusty Rabbit! By supporting your favorite Dusty Rabbit, you will also be entered for a chance to win a special Gaslamp Quarter 150th Anniversary Package! Just post a picture on Instagram and tag your location and #DustyRabbit or email to info@gaslamp.org to enter!

Mike Kungl is the king of the Contemporary Art Deco genre, but he’s recently taken his immense talents and directed them in a new POP art style that he’s calling “Where’s It @ POP?” Each work in the series has hidden objects that are associated with the character, hidden so well that you’ll be looking for all of them for some time to come. Each of these new works comes with a list of the hidden objects, mounted and ready to hang next to the artwork. Friday, July 21 7PM – 10PM – Strangely Loving It // New Artwork from Fabio Napoleoni

We are loving Fabio Napoleoni and so will you! This hugely talented artist has made his mark in contemporary art circles with his whimsical and emotionally evocative artwork featuring his “everyman”, Marcenivo, and a cast of characters that you’ll truly come to love and cherish.
